Our Story
Honor the Past. Protect the Future
For over three decades, we’ve been dedicated to one mission: protecting those who protect us
Founded in Tradition
Legacy Fire Helmets began in 1992 when former firefighter Michael Donovan saw a need for helmets that honored firefighting’s rich heritage while incorporating modern safety standards. After 20 years of service, he knew that equipment should do more than just protect—it should inspire pride and connect firefighters to their noble lineage.
Starting in a small workshop with just two employees, Michael combined traditional leatherworking techniques learned from his grandfather with innovative safety engineering. The first Legacy helmet was custom-made for his former firehouse, and the demand quickly grew as firefighters saw the unique blend of tradition and technology.
Today, we remain a family-owned business with the same commitment to craftsmanship that defined our first helmet. Every piece that leaves our workshop carries not just our name, but the legacy of firefighting itself.

Our Values
Safety First
Every helmet must meet or exceed the highest safety standards. We test relentlessly because firefighters deserve nothing less than absolute protection.
Community Commitment
We're not just suppliers—we're part of the firefighting family. A portion of every sale supports firefighter charities and burn centers nationwide.
Artisan Craftsmanship
While we embrace technology, we never automate the human touch. Each helmet is hand-finished by skilled artisans who take pride in their work.
Honoring Heritage
We preserve traditional designs and techniques that connect today's firefighters to generations of bravery that came before them.
